Why should I have a colour analysis and not just a wardrobe edit and/or styling session?Colour analysis provides you with a sound basic knowledge of the colours that will enhance your features and is a great starting point for building a cohesive wardrobe. I would always recommend colour analysis prior to any of the other services I offer. It is a one off expense that will be a real investment and will pay you back time and time again by helping you to avoid expensive shopping mishaps.
-
How do I book a colour analysis session? To book please contact me or book via the link on my website. If you have any questions we can have an informal chat before any commitment. Please note only Zoom or In Person Colour Analysis appointments need to be booked.
-
Are the colour swatches included in the price of my colour analysis session?Colour swatches can be purchased via my website. I offer the swatches in two formats, either in a wallet or in a small book of cloth swatches (most popular) the charge for the wallet is £18 and for the small cloth swatches the price is £15 including postage and packing in the UK. Overseas postage may incur an additional charge.
-
What swatches are available from you?I can supply mini swatch books of 30 colours which relate to your dominant season. These are priced at £15 and are available on the day of your consultation. Extended palettes which include 48 colours from your dominant and sub/sister season are available. These are priced at £40 and I order these and they are delivered to you within a week after your analysis Bespoke palettes are made to order by me. Turnaround time is approximately 3 days and I can post or deliver these to you. Bespoke palettes include a list of all the colours within the range (of 175 colours) and which season they belong to. For instance a light summer palette will contain some colours from light spring, your sister season. These palettes will contain 48 swatches. They are priced at £60.

I had a colour analysis back in the 80’s, should I have another one, will it have changed?Colour analysis is based on the undertone of your skin which won’t have changed over the years. However, if you’re anything like me you had a colour analysis back in the day which was incorrect. It wasn’t until I trained as part of my personal styling course that I became a convert. It may be useful to confirm that initial analysis and to delve further in to your sub season at the same time. Please get in touch to discuss extending your seasonal analysis.
-
Which colour analysis system do you use?I was initially trained using the four seasons, but I have gone on to use the 12 season analysis system ie. identifying your dominant season and then identifying your sub or sister season. Some people are happy to be guided by their dominant season but I have found that most people like to delve a little further in to where they sit within that season; and some people like to be even more specific and this is why I've introduced by bespoke colour palette service.
-
Will you do my makeup? No, I am not a makeup artist and I am not upselling any branded products. However, I will show you how anyone can wear a bright red lip and advise you on a MAC red lipstick shade most suitable for your season. You will also learn whether you have a warm or cool undertone, which should influence your makeup choices going forward.
-
Will you advise me on hair colour? As with the makeup I am not a hair colourist and therefore will not be able to give specific advice apart from to tell you whether I think your hair colour may be too warm or too cool for your undertone.
-
Am I too old or too young for a colour analysis? The short answer is no. Although I think 14 is probably the youngest I would recommend for colour analysis, but you’re never too old.
-
Do you do men's colour analysis?Absolutely yes. I have men’s drapes and exactly the same format of swatches and wallets apply, but this selection contains a more ‘masculine’ colour palette, or if you’re a woman who prefers the masculine colours we could use these and vice versa we could use the the more’ feminine’ colours for men if that’s your preference.
-
How does colour analysis work?By determining your skin’s undertone, we work through a series of drapes fine tuning the colours that work for you. Under my guidance and with your own observations we will determine which one of the four seasons you fall into.
-
What if I don’t like all the colours? All of us will have colours in our season that don’t resonate with us, maybe they will at another time or maybe never, however I guarantee that once you see yourself in the correct palette it may change your opinion about some colours that you thought you’d never wear. I have also introduced 'bespoke palette' service, whereby we can eliminate those colours that you know you will never like. It's amazing how many of us have an association with colours that means we will never wear them.
-
I only like to wear neutrals, can I benefit from colour analysis?Definitely. There is a selection of neutrals for each season and when you see yourself in the correct neutrals you will benefit from never choosing incorrectly again. Even whites can vary, and I will show you how different subtle changes in your neutral palette will affect your complexion.
-
Will you only take me shopping to expensive shops?Absolutely not, we will discuss budget very early on and work accordingly. I like to use local island shops for local clients, however sometimes a trip to the mainland and the high street can be very useful. During our initial chat we will discuss what shops or designers you like and which you don’t and I can suggest some that you might not have used before. If you have purchased a virtual styling session I will send you a mood board with links to all items shown working within your budget.
-
Do you have experience in styling plus sizes?Yes I do. I believe everyone has the right to look and feel good no matter their size.
-
Do you only style executives? Not at all, I style for your lifestyle even if that includes you wanting to source the perfect dog walking coat I can help.
-
Is your business LGBT friendly?Totally.
-
Is your location wheelchair accessible? It is, although there could be some tricky areas with small steps. However, I am happy to come to you if that would make it easier. It may be that virtual colour analysis and styling is most appropriate
-
I am blind/low vision. Can you still help me with my style? If you would like to work with me I would be very happy to help you find your style and create a palette in your wardrobe that you know will work together. The online option may be most suitable. Please contact me for more information.
-
Do you take card payments? You can use your card to pay online at the time of booking.
-
Can you come to me?Yes. For colour analysis all we need is a chair, a mirror and a room where we have natural daylight. I usually like to sit clients facing a window and in front of a mirror large enough to see both your face and the drapes. We can also take photos or film the session if you wish. For island clients no travel costs would be charged. If you require me to travel off the island we can discuss travel costs.
-
Can you advise me on what will suit my figure?I can. Over the years our bodies change as we age or with weight fluctuations and we can all feel a bit lost and not recognise ourselves and start to forget that we all have assets that can be highlighted. I’m happy to discuss this with you.
-
How does online and virtual colour analysis work?I would work from a photograph (instructions will be provided). I then work with your photo and virtual drapes to determine your undertone and season. I then provide a report. Turnaround times for a virtual analysis will depend on demand. However I would aim to email you your report within 3 working days.
-
Are Gift Vouchers Available?Yes gift vouchers are available digitally. You can purchase them to the value of each service and they can be emailed to the recipient on a day of your choice. I also have physical vouchers that can be purchased and sent out or delivered. It really is a gift that keeps on giving. Once you know a recipient's colour palette shopping for them will be so much easier.
If there is anything you would like to know that I haven’t covered please do get in touch.
